Les prépositions

Les prépositions indiquent la position d’une chose par rapport à une autre chose.




Les plus courants : opposite, before, after, up, down, outside, inside, underneath, into, toward, straight, against, around, along, near, close to.








Prepositions used with adjectives

Usually particular adjectives and participles require particular prepositions.


Examples :
   
at I’m good at chess.
for Are you ready for the party?
in I’m interested in sports.
on I’m keen on golf.
of She’s afraid of the dark.
to Due to the traffic, I’m late.
with We are pleased with our results.

Verbs can also be followed by prepositions.


Examples :
   
at Look at the baby.
for I’m waiting for the bus.
in Do you believe in aliens?
on It depend on your behavior.
of Beware of the dog.
to I refer to the manual.
with I were charged with testing the app.
